Residencia en Menorca

We are islands, and we connect under the sea.

We appear to be islands, connected only with what is at the bottom of the sea, the Earth. But intrinsically we are extremely connected. We are a constant energy, we are a whole that moves, thinks and connects with infinite possibilities. Earth woman, animal, wild beast. Occupy and will always occupy the land that corresponds to it, even if man wants to tame it. Naked body, island inside, internal red current that goes towards the light. Warming spilling into murky waters. Islet. Nature invades the human, it represents the character we have inside, it comes out by grabbing my problems and transforming them. New processes, adaptation, wondering and relating. The painting has strength and character on its own. Endless labyrinths of life that I relate to the landscape of Menorca, stones, paths, roots that adapt to a space. The clouds caress the sky, a peace in space, as the days go by you feel the internal strength of the island.

Within the residence in Mahón, Menorca, I develop a series of paintings related to wild nature, the controversy of being islands and being connected and separated at the same time. A post isolation moment. Nature as a female body, fragmented images that together form a whole (islands). The warm-up and the body like a naked island. Color is a key axis for reading each object or plant. I play again with the matchboxes and a box of string that has a painting of a fish on it. Round canvases giving shape to the idea of the cycles of women and, in turn, of the earth. There is a great contrast in the different formats, paintings of 2 meters while the smallest of 3 centimeters.

Aparentamos ser islas, conectadas únicamente con lo que esta por el fondo del mar, La Tierra.

Pero intrínsecamente estamos sumamente conectados. Somos una energía constante, somos un todo que se mueve, piensa y conecta en infinitas posibilidades.

Mujer tierra, animal, bestia salvaje. Ocupo, ocupa y ocupara siempre el terreno que le corresponde, aunque el hombre lo quiera domar. Cuerpo desnudo, isla por dentro, corriente roja interna que va hacia la luz. Calentamiento que se derrama en aguas turbias. Islote.

La naturaleza invade al humano, esta representa al carácter que tenemos adentro, sale al agarrar mis problemas y transformarlos. Procesos nuevos, adaptación, extrañar y relacionarse. La pintura tiene fuerza y carácter por sí sola. Laberintos de vida interminables que los relaciono con el paisaje de Menorca, piedras, caminos, raíces que se adaptan a un espacio. Las nubes acarician el cielo, una paz en el espacio, con el paso de los días sientes la fuerza interna de la isla.

Dentro de la residencia en Mahón, Menorca, desarrollo una serie de pinturas relacionadas a la naturaleza salvaje, la controversia de ser islas y estar conectados y separados al mismo tiempo. 

Un momento post aislamiento . La naturaleza como un cuerpo femenino, imágenes fragmentadas que juntas forman un todo (islas). El calentamiento y el cuerpo como una isla desnuda. 

El color es un eje clave para la lectura de cada objeto o, planta. Juego nuevamente con las cajas de fósforos y una caja de hilos que tiene la pintura de un pescado. Lienzos redondos dando forma a la idea de los ciclos de la mujer y a su vez de la tierra.

Hay un gran contraste en los distintos formatos, pinturas de 2 metros mientas que las más pequeñas de 3 centímetros.
