Alessandra Risi presents a luminous work that extends the trajectory of Amazonic Ashes, the exhibition I had the pleasure of curating earlier this year. This new piece marks a significante shift in her relationship with the element of fire. No longer a force observed from without, fire here is internalised, embodied, almost metabolised, allowed to circulate through the painting itself. The result is a striking interplay between tension and intimacy, where the subject vibrates with an energy that feels at once elemental and deeply personal. In this transformation, Risi opens a new dimension in her practice: a dialogue where fire is not simply represented but lived, carried into the very fabric of her art.
